Jeanne has been at UMN Morris Student Counseling since 2014. Jeanne started working in the mental health field in 2006 and has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings as a social worker, therapist and supervisor. She currently oversees Student Counseling as the clinical andadministrative supervisor and Morris Let’s Thrive wellbeing initiatives. Jeanne is a board certified supervisor for the Minnesota Board of Social Work and the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. She does continue to see clients for individual and group therapy and also provides outreach and education to the campus community. Jeanne believes in meeting students where they are at and that developing a connection with individuals is the cornerstone to work in the mental health field. It is here where connections allow individuals to take each step in their healing journey. Jeanne uses an eclectic approach to therapy which includes cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, EFT (tapping), and trauma informed mind/body skills and education. Jeanne is a registered yoga teacher (RYT 200) and has taken advanced training in utilizing mind/bodyinterventions to address trauma, manage stress and balance the nervous system.
